Emergency Power Generation, Uninterruptible Fuel Supply – Major US Utility
UCNG contracted with a major US Utility to provide an uninterrupted supply of natural gas via our CNG Virtual Pipeline to support their emergency power generation capabilities at several sites throughout the State.
Region:
- U.S. South West
Volume Demand per site:
- 42 MCFH
- 280 PSI at the inlet
Duration:
- On Standby
Technical Services:
- UCNG technicians available to be on site 24 hours per day as required
Equipment Setup:
- CNG
- Two Gas Transportation Modules (GTMs) with a capacity of 123 MCF each at 3,250 psi at each site
- One 250 BTUH Heater per site
- Two STAFLUX 187 Regulators per site
- Two additional GTMs on standby in case refills are necessary
- Safety Systems:
- Pressure Relief System (PRV)
- Telemetry:
- Tank Level Monitoring System
The project, was executed at short notice, and is anticipated to last a total of twelve months. It requires an uninterruptible supply of CNG to supply.
UNCNG deployed four (4) high-pressure storage CNG units on location and two (2) additional units fueled and ready to deploy as required.
UCNG successfully provided a consistent flow rate at the required pressure of 280 pounds per square inch (PSI) at the inlet for the duration of each emergency power generation run. UCNG’s technical staff members were available 24 hours a day to respond to any emergency power generation opportunities at a maximum of four (4) hours’ notice until service to the area was restored and the power generation shutdown, when the GTMs were replaced with filled units.
